Tadhg broke his arm on May 31. His left arm, ulna, spiral fracture. He tripped getting out of the car and caught himself 'just right'. He did great at the ER, getting x-rays and a soft cast till later in the week when he got his hard cast. He was in the over the elbow cast - orange and then green - for about 6 weeks and then in the short flag print cast for another 3 weeks and then in a hard but removable brace for another 3. The break healed beautifully - and quickly - the last few weeks were more a precautionary move seeing as he is an active little boy and we didn't want to re-injure it while it was still newly healed. He did great in the cast, no complaints and honestly, didn't really slow him down much. He was able to be out of the hard cast by his birthday so he could go play in the water at the lake and he was so thrilled to do that!

The awesome orange cast - this was put on 4 days after his fall |

He really wanted a flag print cast this time but they were out of that one, so he settled for green since he's Irish too ;-) |

Very excited to get the flag print this time! And even more thrilled to have his elbow back ;-) |

Graduated to a brace a few weeks later, he wore all the time but we could take off for baths and to let dry after it got wet! |

Thrilled to go swimming on his birthday cast-free! |
