The boys

A few cute ones of Colm

Just to show he does have a serious face too................

The other morning we heard Caeden call, "Look, I'm in the boat" - here's where we found him.

"I'm ready to go outside"

Caeden walked up to me in the kitchen this afternoon and said, "I'm ready to outside" - this is how he was dressed.................

I then told him he had to have pants and socks and shoes on to go outside........he came back a few minutes later................
Can you tell the socks are on bottom side up and the pants are on backwards, but it was a good try!

He did finally get everything on properly and went out and enjoyed the nice sunshine and no wind we are experiencing today!

Monday morning

My hero of the day is the inventor of the water pump.
Why you might ask?
Have you ever tried to run your household with no running water? It is not a challenge I would wish on anyone, but we got to experience it this weekend. Of course, the water stopped pumping about 10 pm Friday night - with no warning signs - leaving us the weekend to wait for the repair company to be able to come out.
I went to get ready for bed Friday night and had no water in my bathroom sink. My first thought was Kieran had turned off that faucet because I had been complaining that afternoon about the sink draining so very slow. But, alas, there was no water in any other faucet either. I soon found the dishwasher I had just started was running without water as well. And shortly after that we unplugged the water heater so it wasn't running empty either.
So, after checking the obvious and simple of fuses and breakers, we settled in to using water from 5 gal buckets and Uncle Ben's house for the weekend.
Besides the challenges of flushing toilets and the pain of heating water to wash dishes we got thru the weekend. And of course, you remember I started the dishwasher...........meaning I had a full load of dirty dishes. Thank heaven for paper plates and spoons.
The repair place came out this morning and was able to find a wire they tightened and re-taped and everything started working again. The wire apparently had a bit of slack in it and has disconnected somewhere and their playing with it fixed it for the time being. They said it could now work for the next 2 hours, 2 days, 2 months or 2 years. So, I am praying it lasts till a better time to be replacing wires and a well pump. But, I am very thankful to have running water again!

Here is Caeden this morning out on the deck - apparently the little dusting of snow we got was worthy of snow boots and pushing around with a stick, but not too much to be able to still ride our bike around a bit. It's all melted now.

And a couple of the boys yesterday - didn't get any too good as Caeden was too busy teaching Colm to touch and pull the sheet behind them - Colm seems to be a quick learner.....................

Caeden and his new bed

A couple nights ago we moved Caeden into the toddler bed. He is doing okay there, usually tests his boundary's a couple times in getting out of bed, but he was doing this with the crib as well. The first night I found him on the floor when we went to bed, but other then that and intentional escapes he is staying in pretty good.

(in case you are thinking I don't know which is the front of the boys pj's - he is getting his jammies put on backwards all the time now due to his great pleasure in undressing himself and ridding himself of his diaper frequently.)

I told him to close his eyes..................

Colm - 7 months

Colm passed his 7 month milestone last Friday. He is developing such a personality. He has come to realize there are other people around this house besides mama. He loves to watch Caeden play and often wants to share toys with him. And he loves his daddy - when Kieran comes home he gets so excited, whether he can see him or just hear him, his legs start kicking and his arms waving and making all sorts of sounds trying to talk. It is so cute to see him interacting with him. As for what he can do - he is sitting up well now, has been rolling for awhile but often gets stuck on his tummy and forgets he could just roll over. He will play with whatever he can reach and it usually goes to his mouth first. He loves to play peek-a-boo too, which is what he is playing in the above photos. He still just has his 2 front teeth and I don't see anymore trying to come thru yet. He is napping an hour and a half in the morning and afternoon and occasionally another short nap in the late afternoon. He is sleeping roughly 11 hours at night, still feeding around the time we go to bed and then again about the time Kieran gets up for the day. He is eating solids 3 times a day and LOVES them; his favorites are anything in the yellow/orange vegetable family. He will tolerate the green vegetables if I mix them with something he likes. He is such a sweetheart and we are enjoying every minute of watching him grow!

Anderson Farms

Kieran was off on Friday, so we went up to a tool store in Denver to get a couple things and then we spent the afternoon at Anderson Farms in Erie. They have a pumpkin patch, corn maze and a good selection of animals, including ducks, goats, bunnies, a cow and a buffalo. One of the goats just had babies. They were so cute, only 3 days old and walking around so tiny. We took a wagon ride out to the pumpkin patch and picked a couple pumpkins. We walked thru the corn maze and Caeden wandered around enjoying the animals and being outside.

Colm - 7 months old

Caeden and his "pumpkin" - he said "it has corn on it" - it's actually a gourd with funny bumpy things all over it.

I think this was Caeden's favorite part - they had the wagons for pulling your pumpkins back to your car and he pulled this wagon all over the place - including thru most of the corn maze - with rather uneven ground and lots of turns.

Caeden is talking to the chickens

I put some more pictures up on the WalMart site if you want to see more!

More from the park

A couple cute ones of Caeden

I was trying to get a cute picture of Colm, but he was so fascinated with the bark chips I couldn't get a good one with him looking at me. But here he is with a fistful of bark that he would have loved to taste if I would've let him!

Caeden is pretending to ride a train................ (what can I say, the boy has train on the brain..... we were packing for the weekend and he was excited 'cause he thought we were "going to Phoenix and the train park!)

It doesn't take long for them to figure out how to swing like this................just watched some other boys doing it and sure enough, he had try it too!

Caeden and Colm at the park

Caeden climbing up the playground

Smiling Colm

Caeden after sliding down the slide - he is doing rather good on the slides lately!

Colm loves to swing!

Both boys swinging!

Autumn Color in Vail

We spent a long weekend in Vail - it was beautiful, the colors were great, though almost past their prime. It was wonderful weather, a little rainy and cloudy one morning and a little snow overnight one night, but other then that sunny and warm.
Kieran was working on a deck, so we left him working and went exploring. We found the Wal-mart, Target and some other stores. Wandered Home Depot a couple times - much to Caeden's delight! And found some fun parks.

Here's the park in Vail - pictures of the boys playing there coming up next........
