Ready to head out to Uncle Ben's wedding........... it was beautiful!

The kids were all too cute, they all sat restless but overall good through the ceremony, throughly enjoyed the dancing at the reception and all fell asleep quickly last night.
Caeden even told me his legs were still tired this morning from "all that dancing"! Tadhg kindly slept through pictures and the ceremony, refused to nurse most of the afternoon but slept quite nicely in the wrap. I think he was a bit overwhelmed by all the going-on's and meeting the slew of family and friends!

Tadhg meeting Great-Grandma, don't you just love how they are looking at each other?

Playing

The kids made a tent in the backyard the other day. They had fun playing camping and going hunting and fishing. For awhile they were catching sharks in the lake and watching for bears. Oh what great imaginations little boys have! They really wanted to take their naps out there, but mama vetoed that idea as I really needed a real nap time. A good thing too since we ended up with a nice rain shower while they were napping in their beds!

4 kids - together!
Colm- 3 1/2, Caeden- 5, Tadhg-12 days, Alannah- 20 months

isn't this too cute of the boys?

life's rough as the 4th born.....

and I guess as the only girl!

this was too funny, Alannah has a piece of chocolate sticking out of her mouth- oh the things we bribe with to get a picture!

little mama

I found Alannah the other morning with my wrap trying to wrap it around herself and her baby. It was too cute, so I went and got a little scarf out of the winter box and made her a wrap of her own for her baby. She throughly enjoyed it and wore it around for a good while. Since then she has asked to have it put back on several times and the boys have even taken their own turns carrying the doll babies around.

Introducing......

On Monday afternoon, we welcomed our little boy to our family.

TADHG CONOR
August 2, 2010 at 5:36 p.m.
7 pounds, 2 ounces
20 inches

And yes, in case you didn't realize, Monday was also Kieran's birthday. So now he has a birthday buddy and I was able to "find" the best birthday present ever to give him!

Now, before you try saying it like it looks........ get the sound in your mind before paying attention to the spelling, it's not as hard as it looks, though it isn't phonetically correct at all :-)
You pronounce it like "Tiger" without the "R" on the end - Tige or Ty-g. It is obviously a gaelic spelling and the "adh" is called a diphthong basically making the "I" sound in English.

Tadhg - the most common meaning is poet or philosopher which would lend itself to being related to an Irish bard or storyteller (and here) or (here) - one who passes the family stories down through generations. It is also possibly related to the names Timothy or Thaddeus which would lend itself to a meaning of "man of honor" or "honoring God"

So, here's our little Tadhg Conor!

a little "bard/storyteller honoring God" and "strong-willed and wise"

(and yes, those are all links above to various name sites, most are for my reference. I wanted to save them somewhere! But feel free to hop around and look at the various meanings behind the names.)
