Alannah just looking cute

The following pictures are from the "Fisk family" Christmas get-together - it was quite a crowd at Uncle Ben's house with 16 adults and 9 grandkids, all under 5 years old!
Caeden recieved this little car and spent quite a bit of time pushing it around on the floor, we haven't told him yet it takes batteries and will go by itself.......... :-)

The kids made themselves comfortable wherever

Singing Happy Birthday to Jesus, all the kids except Alannah who was peacefully sleeping in someone's arms.

Accomplishments

It always feels good to accomplish something on your to-do list. Especially when you are taking care of 3 children. And getting it crossed off before it "absolutely has to be done" is always nice too!

I always think of mom when I get the new stockings made, I have many, no make that an occasional memory of her working on the latest stocking as I went to bed on Christmas Eve. Aren't you so proud of me Mom?
Besides the Christmas tree, this is about the extent of the decorations around here, With 2 little boys running around, things at their level aren't very smart unless you really want to spend all day discipling them for touching it!

We also made gingerbread men, we didn't use real gingerbread though, cause Kieran likes carrot cake better and if I am going to the "trouble" of making cake I might as well make what he likes :-) Caeden was insistent that they have hearts.

I tried this pose again after I found a red hat for her to wear............. isn't it so sweet?

Okay mom, this is getting boring...........

Makes ya wonder what she was thinking!

Can Photoshop change the direction of Caeden's eyes? This would have been really cute if he had been looking at me!

It's hard to look at the camera when your baby sister is right there, she's alot more fun!

3 Weeks

Isn't this just too precious? The bears are as big as she is!
The little princess Alannah is 3 weeks old today. She is a wonderful baby. Very easy going and usually very patient. She is so good about waiting to eat till I can sit down and often will lay in her bed just looking around till I can pick her up. She's napping well and gives me a good 4-6 hour stretch during the first part of the night. Varies a little depending on when she last feeds and goes down for the night, but usually doesn't get up for her first feed after I go bed till at least 1 am. She still looks alot like her brothers, especially when she is sleeping. But I think she has her own little look and personality when she's awake and looking around. She is nursing well and is finally fitting into the newborn sizes pretty good. The 0-3 months stuff is still a little big on her. Her brothers love her and often say hi or want to see her, especially when she's awake. They are doing good too. Colm is still fighting a bit of a cough and runny nose. Caeden had a touch of it, but doesn't seem to have gotten it like Colm did. I wanted to take some more Christmas pictures of the 3 of them, but both boys have somehow managed to get little scrapes on their noses and chins, so we are going to wait till next week and see if they look any better!

Who is who?

There's a bit of family resemblance don't you think?

who would have thought.........

I couldn't believe it........ this afternoon I went online looking for an "Evie CD" - you know, that old tape that we always listened to decorating the Christmas tree? It's one of those Christmas traditions and I thought, "oh, that would be a fun CD to have". I figured I would go to Amazon or something and find a CD for maybe $5. I mean really, who listens to Evie anymore. She was popular back in the 70's. Well, to my amazement, her CD's - now no longer being published - are going for quite the big bucks. Here is Evie - Christmas Memories.
It is selling for $85 - and they are sold out, you've got to get on a waiting list!
I found some others on Amazon for as low as $40 for the "Come On Ring Those Bells" CD
and $70 for the "Christmas Memories" CD, which has one of my favorite songs on it.

So, since these songs seem to be hard to get, here's a couple from youtube.com for your listening pleasure.  If anyone can find "Move Me Closer (Shepherd's Prayer) online, let me know!  Here are the words....... that's the best I can find so far.

Can you really have too many pictures when the subject matter is so adorable?

This is Alannah in the same outfit I wore (and all the rest of my siblings!) coming home from the hospital. It fits her perfectly right now.

Pictures

Colm loves his baby sister!

Shhhhh..... don't let her daddy see this picture! Really, it wasn't for long and too cute NOT to get a picture of.......... she was waiting very patiently for her breakfast.

Our first attempt at a picture.......... we'll keep practicing!

Oh, and in case you were wondering........... on the guesses for when Alannah would be born and what she would weigh, etc........ overall I think the winner is Melissa. She got within an hour and a half with the correct time and date! Grammie was the closest in weight and there were a number of guesses of 19 inches long. You can see all the guesses here

almost 1 week....

Just some random thoughts and pictures from the last week.

Alannah is just a little doll, she weighs 6 pounds, 5 ounces fully clothed as of yesterday. So, she is gaining some weight though these preemie outfits are the only thing she isn't swimming in! Even the tiny newborn outfits are huge on her.

Did you know that Huggies and Pampers now have a little colored stripe on their newborn diapers that turn a different color when the diaper is wet?
I don't know if it has taken me 3 kids to figure this out or if it is something new :-)

Did you know that little girls don't make quite the mess peeing with their diaper off as little boys do?

The other night Alannah slept almost 5 hours - I woke her up to feed her, but that's a rare moment for me to wake a sleeping baby!  She also napped over 3 hours yesterday afternoon. I guess our car trip to the doctor and back again really made her tired!

Flowers for Mama and Alannah

Colm, Caeden and Alannah
- you can ignore the leftover dinner still on Colm's chin, it was an unplanned photo moment and I didn't think to wash him before giving him some cake :-)

Posing with Alannah's birthday cake
Caeden is really enjoying his big brother role and often asks to hold her and talk to her. He has asked several times if I could please put her on the floor so they could play together. He was planning on sharing his tools with her when asked what they were going to play. Colm loves her as well, but his concern has been more along the lines of "put baby in her bed now" when he wants some attention.

Introducing.....

ALANNAH CAILEEN

Born November 26, 2008 at 5:11 am
5 pounds, 12 ounces and 19 inches long

She looks ALOT like her brothers, but with a bit more and darker hair

The boys came over to see her at the hospital and Caeden was so excited and proud - you can see it in his face. Colm was also excited and he just kept looking at her with a serious face.

We just got home this evening, the boys spent the day with Gramps and Grammie and a large assortment of family in Cheyenne and they'll be home soon. Alannah is doing good, she is so tiny and sweet. I will post some more pictures this weekend but wanted to share some soon for those of you who live far away.

today

It's a cold, cloudy morning, a little dusting of white, but not much - almost more frosty then snowy.  Wouldn't it be a nice day to sit by a fire holding a newborn baby? Yeah, I think so too. But Alannah seems perfectly content in her tight little warm belly spot still. Not sure how to convince her that this winter weather really is nicer! But, she will arrive eventually......... hopefully sooner then later .......... maybe the next post on here will be pictures of her!

helping or hiding......

Caeden had fun with scissors the other evening while I was making dinner. He sat and cut on this paper bag for a good 45 minutes. He told me that the floor was getting messy but that he would sweep it up when he was finished. After awhile of sitting by him while he was working I went down the hall to change Colm's diaper real quick. When I returned he had started sweeping up, it was so cute I went and got the camera and took some pictures of "my helper".......

and his cut up paper bag................

and then realized the REAL reason he was sweeping up as I took this picture....... can you see the missing spot of hair on the left side?
