2 month comparison

These are each of the 3 kids at 2 months - I tried to pick a "favorite" picture, rather then a "look a like" picture - just to give you a comparison. Personally, I can really tell them apart. And especially when Alannah is awake I think she is looking more and more like her own little person. And so far, the bit of hair she has is considerably darker then the boys were.

the boys

waiting for the doctor once they got changed into their hospital gowns

Caeden after surgery enjoying a popsicle, which Alannah looks like she would like to taste too

Alannah did wonderfully too, very happy and slept quite a bit but when she was awake she was good - we caught a smile here which are becoming more and more frequent

Colm, after surgery, he pretty much looked like this the rest of the day

After waking up, Caeden drank a whole cup of juice and 2 popsicles, then he threw up. :-)  Then feeling much better he munched on graham crackers and ginger ale quite happily till we left

The boys being escorted to the car in an oversized wheelchair

Like I said, Colm pretty much looked like this all afternoon and evening!

The nurse told Caeden he needed to take it easy the rest of the day and do quiet things like watch movies and read books. Caeden got all the books off the shelf and piled them on the chair so he could read quietly. When I asked him why he didn't just sit on the floor by the shelf he said it was more comfortable up there.

I think he sat and read quietly for about 5 minutes!

The boys are both doing good today. Neither are complaining of pain, they napped well and are playing normally, with reminders from Mama and Auntie Em to be careful and play quiet. But neither seen to be affected by any pain or discomfort down below.

thoughts from Caeden

Last night I was watching a little piece of the news and they were talking about Barack Obama and showed a picture of him. Caeden remarked that "he knows that man". I was curious what he actually knew since I didn't think he had seen alot of him since the debates this last fall. So I asked him, "what do you know about him?". He replied, "he lives in America". I told him "that's right, what else do you know?" He said "he likes people". I said, "did you know he is going to be the next President of the United States?". To which he replied, "oh, marvelous". I wasn't sure what tone of voice he was actually using, but it was an interesting response anyway.

just some random pictures and comments

Alannah - 7 weeks

And yes, we still have Caeden and Colm around. Though they are not the popular ones in the pictures lately :-) Caeden loves his little sister. He often asks to "see her face". He likes to help pick out her outfits and is convinced pink is her favorite color. The boys have "discovered" Popeye, thanks to Da and the wonderful YouTube. They will sit for awhile and watch episodes on the computer. And Caeden has figured out how to work the mouse to start another one and adjust the volume. Caeden told me the other day that when he grows up and he finishes being an astronaut he will be a fireman. These are his 2 favorite occupations right now and he is often playing something with them, or his classic stand by tools and wood.

Colm is becoming quite the talker. He is putting several words together and talking in sentences now. He will often surprise me by saying a word I didn't realize he knew. He also will mimic just about anything Caeden says or does. Which is something kinda cute, but not so cute when they are getting in trouble. Some of his latest lines are "not yet mama", or "no, mama" and "coming". He will also asked to be excused from the table and if he is feeling tired or crabby or really upset asks to go to his bed (cause that's the only place his paci and bear are allowed) He is a wonderful sleeper, he's been sleeping a good 13+ hours a night lately and I have been enjoying quiet mornings with "only" 2 kids around, allowing me to do things like update the blog......... :-)

The little princess relaxing in Da's arms

You know, sometimes it's rough being the 3rd kid. Alannah was ready to go to sleep. But I got sidetracked changing laundry, and then folding it and straightening the bedroom. And then I realized the poor girl had fallen asleep in the rocker all by herself. So, i had to get a couple pictures of her "rocking herself to sleep".  Besides that, she still fits just perfectly in the chair.

just some pictures

Alannah is so content - she will often just sit in her bed and look around, wave her arms and just be perfectly happy while I deal with her brothers, wash dishes or work on the next meal.

The boys went out and played yesterday, it was still a bit cold but not as cold as it has been. You cannot really see it, but Caeden is raking the snow. Colm was having fun playing on the deck till he got cold, then it wasn't fun anymore.

Since we never got around to making cut out cookies for Christmas, we made them for New Year's Day.

little princess

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Alannah - 5 weeks old
(Notice her receding hairline? Poor girl, she has all this hair and now it's disappearing off the top....... I told Kieran, she looks like she could be in a baby rogaine commercial! Hopefully it will come back in quickly :-))
