Just a funny

I was sorting a very old stack of papers the other day and came across this funny story someone sent me a long time ago. I got another good laugh out of it, passed it on to Kieran and he got a good laugh and now I am passing it on to you! Enjoy!

"What exactly do you mean?"
Mrs. Smith is a rather old fashioned lady, always quite delicate and elegant, especially in her language. She and her husband were planning a week's vacation in Florida, so she wrote to a campground asking for a reservation.
She wanted to make sure the campground was fully equipped, but didn't know quite how to ask about the toilet facilities. She just couldn't bring herself to write the word "toilet" in her letter. After much deliberation, she finally came up with the old fashioned term "bathroom commode". So she began again, referring to the bathroom commode merely as the "B.C." Her actual query read "Does the campground have its own B.C.?"
Well, the campground owner wasn't at all old fashioned, and he just couldn't figure out what she was talking about. That B.C. business really stumped him.
After worrying about it for awhile, he showed the letter to several campers, but they couldn't imagine what the lady meant. So the campground owner, finally coming to the conclusion that the lady must be asking the location of the local Baptist Church, sat down and wrote the following reply:
LAZ-E-DAYS CAMPGROUND
Dear Madam:
I regret very much the delay in answering your letter, but I now take the pleasure of informing you that a B.C. is located 9 miles north of the campground, and is capable of seating 250 at one time. I admit it is quite a distance away if you are in the habit of going regularly, but no doubt you will be pleased to know that a great number of people take their lunches along and make a day of it. They usually arrive early and stay late.
The last time my wife and I went was six years ago, and it was so crowded that we had to stand up the whole time we were there. It may interest you to know that, right now, there is a supper planned to raise money to buy more seats. They're going to hold it in the basement of the B.C.
I would like to say it pains me very much not to be able to go more regularly, but it surely is no lack of desire on my part. As we grow older, it seems to be more of an effort, particularly in cold weather.
If you do decide to come down to our campground, perhaps I could go with you the first time you go, sit with you and introduce you to all the other folds.
Remember, this is a friendly community.

Let me know when you stop laughing....................will get some new pictures of the boys up soon.

What to do..........

..........when mom gives you a whole sheet of stickers to play with!

They first went on the legs, then the face, then back to legs,

kept him entertained for quite a while!

Eight things.........

1) Both of my boys have decided that early mornings are "the thing to do" - if I can get both of them to sleep till 6:01 am I consider it quite the feat and don't mind so much getting up. Before 6 am is just not morning yet in my book, unfortunately more mornings then not one of the them, if not both disagree with me on this issue.

2) Caeden has found that when he doesn't eat one meal and must wait till the next meal for anything else to eat it can be a long time before dinner and mom doesn't serve dinner at 3 pm regardless of how many times he asks.

3) Colm has figured out how to stand himself up in his crib. This is a great accomplishment but greatly hinders falling to sleep quickly when you want to keep trying it out.

4) Caeden's current favorite movie is KidSongs Trucks and Colm's favorite movie is Baby Einsteins.

5) Colm is moving quickly into 12 month size clothes, most everything that is not 12 month size is getting rather short in the legs.

6) Caeden weighs 28.5 pounds.

7) Both boys love oatmeal for breakfast and Colm will eat as much of it as Caeden does.

8) Colm now knows how to "blow kisses" - he kisses his hand, very cute

Caeden and Colm
Not sure what to caption this, but it was too cute of an expression!
And the ever smiling Colm....

This is Colm's new found obsession.............it's making going to bed rather difficult right now since he wants to keep trying to stand. He is so proud of himself.

Happy Birthday Andrew!

Happy Birthday Andrew (and Uncle Don too!)
Hope you have a wonderful day!

The other day we were over at mom's and Andrew's truck is parked in the driveway. Caeden noticed it and told me that "Uncle Andrew's truck was right there". Then he followed up the thought by reminding me that Uncle Andrew is in China right now. When asked what Uncle Andrew is doing there, he replies "eating lots of rice". :-)
He then asked, "should we go see Uncle Andrew in China". I told him it was a long ways away and we needed a passport to go there and we didn't have passports. Caeden then suggested since we were on our way to Wal-Mart maybe we should get passports there.

Colm is working tooth #6 through. I can feel the edge of it, so it should be completely through soon. He scooting faster and faster every day and yesterday pulled himself up standing all by himself. He was rather motivated to get at some of Caeden's wood :-)

Caeden's biggest accomplishment of late is being in big boy underwear all the time. He still has an occasional accident when he "forgets" but overall is doing really well and I consider him potty trained and just have the upkeep that continues for the next few years :-)
The other morning Caeden was eating oatmeal and said; "can you warm this up colder for me please mama" - we followed with a discussion on the difference between warm up and cool down :-) But it brought a smile to my face anyway!

I will try and get some new pictures up soon - Kieran has had the camera at work and I keep forgetting to get it from him. But here's a couple from a week or two ago.

It's getting harder to get pictures of them together now that Colm is mobile!

Look at Colm's new found skill! He has pulled himself onto his knees, Kieran stood him up, but he loved it and stood there for a good 5 minutes before sitting down. Won't be long!

Caeden thrilled with his new sweater from Great-Grandma!

Smiling Colm

Why is it that a 10 month old can find scraps, pieces and tiny little thing that even the best vacuum misses?

Like Father, Like Son.........

The pictures pretty much say it all................shortly after seeing Kieran's tools all lined up on the bench, Caeden had his tools all lined up under the coffee table while he working too. It was too cute not to get a picture of!

10 months

Colm Michael is 10 months old today - how time is quickly passing!

He is such a joy, always ready with a smile for anyone. Loves to watch and try and participate with his brother and is becoming quite the daddy's boy - if Kieran is around he loves to sit with him. He just starting scooting around, I am sure crawling is not far off. Everyday he is getting quicker and more proficient at getting what he wants. Here's a few pictures of him getting his ball - any ball is a favorite toy these days!

The little mark just below his eye............he found that the piece of wood Kieran was using to make a gate was rather heavy and hard to hold onto to as it knocked into his saucer/walker and scraped down his face. Poor baby cried quite a bit, but that little mark seemed to be the worst of it and it is healing quite nicely. I am sure it will not be his last wood wound!

And not to forget about the big brother.........here is Caeden a couple days ago. Kieran made him a fiddle/violin out of wood, it doesn't have any strings, but is the perfect size for him and he is enjoying it alot.

Oh and Happy Birthday to Uncle Nathan as well! Have a wonderful day!

Happy New Year!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

We went up to see Great-Grandma in Cheyenne - and a few aunts, uncles and assorted cousins too - on Sunday. The weather was clear and sunny, though a bit cold when we left Sunday morning. We got to Cheyenne midday and by about 4 it had clouded up a bit and was trying to snow. It didn't look too bad though, we were planning on heading home in the next couple hours. However, by about 5 pm, the weather and roads were bad enough that they had closed I-25 out of Cheyenne - so we went over to Aunt Jamie's and had a wonderful dinner and spent the night there.
Though we hadn't planned on spending the night, I had plenty of clothes, jammies and diapers for the boys. We even still had the pack and play in the car from Christmas. And anything we were missing Aunt Jamie had, so it was much better then being stranding somewhere else!
We headed home midday morning yesterday, the roads were pretty clear, mostly dry with some wet or snowy spots and a bit windy for the first little while, but we made it home fine.
We spent New Year's Eve at home, the boys went to bed on the early side, we watched a movie and headed to bed too.
Hope you all have a blessed New Year!
