adorable

Alannah wasn't really in the mood for pictures, but the weather was perfect - warm and cloudy :-) So I wasn't going to get shadows, so we gave it a try - she's so cute, even if she was a bit crabby!

this was a pose I was "trying" to get Alannah to do - but she wasn't interested in being in the grass at all and she really isn't sitting well enough on her own yet to do it anyway - but Colm has it down good! And then of course I turned around and found Caeden doing it as well :-)

first food

We had told Caeden that Alannah could have her first "real" food on his birthday. So, before we served up his birthday dinner, we let Alannah experience homemade rice cereal and a little mashed avocado. She ate maybe a couple tablespoons worth and did pretty good not pushing it back out with her tongue.

(and yes, the only bib I could find was a Thanksgiving one :-), oh well!)

At a little past 6 months Alannah weighs 13 pounds, 5 ounces and is 25" long - just in case you were wondering!

boys & bugs

the boys found a little caterpillar the other day......... they tried to feed it..... it didn't really appreciate the plastic leaf they were offering..... they settled for petting it & watching it crawl away!

milestones

Alannah is "almost" sitting up on her own....... if she's balanced right she can sit there a little bit, but she falls over rather easily :-) She's getting close though.......

and this week she has officially rolled from front to back....... the first time I thought maybe her arm was just in the right place and she tipped over, but then the next day she did it several more times......... here are some pics of her getting close!
