Where does the time go little buddy....... has it really been 6 weeks?

You are sleeping so nicely through the night right now.... I am hoping it doesn't change!

You go down sometime in the evening, depending on the day and when you wake up but then I wake you and change your diaper before I go bed - usually 9/9:30, nurse you and put you back down within about 15-20 minutes. The last few nights you've slept till 3 or 3:30! Had a good nurse then and back to sleep till 6:30/7. I cannot complain.........

However, you hate the car. Seriously, Hate. The. Car.

You pretty much scream 90% of the time we spend driving.

You don't seem to care if Alannah is singing you songs or your brothers are talking to you. If we play nice music for you or not. Whether you should be sleeping or awake.

I don't really have any other option but to let you cry, but I wish you would learn to like the car!

During the day you usually are up 45 minutes to an hour and then back down again through the day. Typically, a short nap first thing in the morning and then a longer morning nap mid morning. Then a nice long nap timed to coincide with your siblings naps. Then another nap or two through the evening.

Kieran took the boys fishing this weekend, they went shopping and ran some errands Friday evening, left early Saturday morning and came back mid afternoon. Then went again this morning for a couple hours. The boys love fishing and I have been enjoying the 2 little ones. It's been a interesting and different dynamic not having the boys around. Alannah has sat and read books to herself for a good 30 minutes, she plays in her own little world so nicely and then wanders around with me and helps clean or whatever. She loves her big brothers and was thrilled to see them yesterday afternoon, but it's been fun too having some more "one on one" time with her!

She loves to be a little girl

she loves to play mama with her dolls or bear

she carries them around with a blanket or burp cloth

she puts them to sleep in a little plastic basket she found

she pretends to give them Tadhg's paci

she often borrows Tadhg's paci for herself if she thinks I am not looking

she loves dried fruit

she loves to take off her shoes - and then want them back on again

she loves her hat, for today anyway

she talks so much, she mimics anything we ask her to say

she reminds us to pray at dinner and often several times

she loves to sing "I love you" and pray before bed

she says "bye mama" before leaving the room I am in, I say, "bye Alannah, I love you" and she replies, "I love you too"

5 weeks

siblings-1st month

I wasn't going to label these pictures, scramble them all up and make you guess who was who, but then decided it made for a pretty picture heavy post and I kinda liked it this way better.

They sure do look like siblings though :-)

I think Tadhg looks most like Colm... what do you think?

Little Tadhg - you are 1 month old already!

I cannot believe it, but I told Da the other day, it seems like you've been around for awhile and are all settled in and used to being around.

At one month:

~you are sleeping a good 4-5 hour stretch at night

~your afternoon nap is your only consistent time nap, roughly 1:30/2 till 4 or 5.

~we are still working on a consistent morning nap so mama can get school started or the dishes done!

~you love to sleep in my arms and almost always fall asleep there

~you nurse well, many times a day and 2-3 times a night

~you don't mind the paci, but don't always take it

~you aren't sure about the car, sometimes you will sleep solid while I run in and out of stores all afternoon and other times you cry for a good 5-10 minutes before falling asleep and other times, like this morning, you just scream and cry the entire time you are in the car.

~you just moved into size 1 diapers - I am pretty sure this is the earliest I have moved any of you into size 1. But they fit you well.

~You weigh 9 pounds, 13 ounces- that's almost 1/2 a pound a week!

(just for the record, at 1 month, Caeden was 10.2 pounds, Colm was 9.13 pounds as well, and Alannah was 8.2 pounds.)

~your brothers and sister love you and love to talk to you, kiss you and being you blankets and paci's.

~Your little smile is just precious, we've got a glimpse of it several times now

.... as a fourth born child..........

Tadhg was "helping" me make breakfast the other morning, wanted to sleep in my arms, I need both hands for a few minutes so I laid him on the counter. He slept quite nicely there!
