Kieran's on his way home!
He made it about 400 miles this afternoon and stopped for the night in Kentucky.
He has about another 1000 miles to go................please pray the truck continues to run well and he makes good time. We cannot wait to have him home again.
Caeden asked me on the way home this afternoon if he could get out and walk. I told him it wasn't safe; there were too many cars and he might get hurt. He thought about that for a minute and then asked if he could walk in the car.................it is amazing what he puts together in his little brain!
Emily has been here since yesterday afternoon and has been helping me get the house cleaned up and such. She even rubbed spots out of the living room carpet.............what would we do without Auntie Em?

Firsts for Colm
Well, this has been a week of firsts for Colm!
Tuesday he rolled from his belly to his back - he had done it a couple times previously but he was on our bed and he was laying in such a way I thought he had really just kinda fallen over and not rolled, so I didn't count it till he did it in the crib Tuesday evening.
Wednesday I felt the sharp tip of his first tooth that I had been eying coming through the last 24 hours- I could see the white but didn't feel it till Wednesday morning.
Thursday - today - he rolled from his back to his belly. It was so cute and I actually watched him do it. And he has done it again many times today - he's hardly staying on his back. Which is rather frustrating cause he really plays better on his back - oh well, he's getting good practice!
All this probably explains his fussiness this week - he's sleeping okay (not great) but is really fussy while he is awake. He is constantly chewing on his fingers or a toy so I know that tooth is bothering him some. Hopefully it comes in completely without too much more pain!

Thoughts from Caeden
Last night coming home from a family birthday party -
Caeden: "Mama, my eyes are sleepy" "Close them?"
Mama: "Yes, you can close them, go to sleep. I'll put you in bed when we get home"
2 minutes later -
Caeden : "I'm not sleepy anymore more"
Mama: "Oh, okay - if you want to go to sleep later you can"
2 minutes later he is sound asleep and hardly woke up when I brought him in the house!

Monday morning
Happy Birthday (yesterday) Uncle Ben!
Happy Birthday Gramps!
So, guess what I did yesterday...................
I locked my boys in the car. We are driving dad and mom's van right now and I must have accidentally hit the lock button as I got out of the car. Both boys were in their carseats along with my bag with the keys in it.
Thankfully, we were home and I could run in the house and get the phone. Called mom and she left right away to bring another key out. I also called the fire department to see if waiting a little less then 30 minutes would be okay since it was pretty warm out. They said they would send a truck out just in case. Mom ended up getting here first, the firemen showed up about 10 minutes later. Both boys were pretty hot and Colm was crying, but once we got them out they were both fine.
I am so thankful that mom was home and able to come right out and we were home and I had a phone too! God is faithful even when we do something crazy!

Our day
It's 5:15 here and I am tired........would love to just sit on the couch and do nothing, but we still have a good hour and half before bedtime.
Was thinking about all I did today and thought "no wonder I am tired!" - here was our day:
6:30 - Got up and wandered out to the kitchen, both boys got up within minutes of each other, both before I was awake enough to get out of bed.
7:45 - Left the house for by Baby Boot Camp exercise class, after feeding everyone breakfast, repacking the diaper bag since I knew I was out of diapers, packing water bottles for everyone and snacks for Caeden and changing 2 dirty diapers of Caeden's
8:30-10 - at Baby Boot Camp class - the class is good and quite a challenge for me physically, but it's good for me!!
10-12 - stopped at Vitamin Cottage and Bed, Bath and Beyond and convinced Caeden to finally take a nap before we got to the park - you know, if I wanted him to stay up he would have been asleep 2 minutes after putting him in his seat, just want me to have him sleep and he is as wide awake as can be!
12-1 - Went downtown to Acacia Park to see the elephant - real, live and BIG - that was there - Nathan and Kyle were "raising awareness" for the Republican party and specifically their fundraising dinner tonight. (Caeden loved the elephant - will post pics later!) Right after getting everything out, meters paid and heading to the park I realized Colm had a very poopy diaper all over - go figure, the kid poops every 3-5 days and he choose this moment for a blow-out!
1-3 - Left the park, headed to the Wal-Mart - the new one opened today in Falcon and since I needed some milk I figured we would stop there. Was rather crowded - am hoping it was just since it was the first day open and it's not always going to be that crowded! Didn't wait long in the check out line though :-)
3 - Got home, changed both boys diapers, fed Colm, sat down for a few minutes and really didn't want to get back up! But convinced myself I really better - got up and got a load of laundry together, including all that had been dirtied by Colm's blow-out and washed and dried that load.
4-5:30 - Colm napped! Yeah!
While he napped I emptied, cleaned and re-filled Caeden's pool on the deck, filled Jack's water twice and he promptly dumped it the second time - crazy dog! Fed Jack, took the trash out, cleaned up what I could while watching Caeden on the deck, brought Caeden in and changed his outfit, emptied the dishwasher, reloaded it and picked up the kitchen, hall and living room. used the cordless sweeper in the living room.
Now I just need to fed Caeden and then hopefully have a quiet evening!
So, there was my day - just in case you ever wondered what I did all day!

Good Morning!
Happy Birthday Grammie!
Hope you have a wonderful day!
We had another first the other night - I gave both boys a bath - at the same time - with no help!
It was rather interesting, but they did both get clean and were happy through out the bath, so I guess that counts for something.
And this morning, I walked in to get Caeden, still half asleep only to find him completely undressed with a poopy diaper in his crib - not exactly what you want to deal with first thing in the morning. But thankfully, he hadn't spread the mess too far and we got cleaned up and dressed early this morning. Oh, the joys of a 2 year old!
Colm's been a bit fussy and not sleeping well the last few days. Not sure if it is just teething or he is getting overtired or if he wants to be awake more! So, we are playing with it and seeing what happens.
He getting more and more active though. He has started grabbing at things in my hand - cups and such and he has a favorite toy. A little cow with a teether ring on it. If I place it in his hand he hold it great and chews on it for a long while.

Thoughts from the mind of a 2 year old
A conversation with Caeden yesterday went something like this:
Caeden: I hear something (tilts head to "hear better")
Mama: What do you hear
Caeden: A gecko
Mama: Oh, a gecko.............
Caeden: It lost it's tail
Mama: (Silently controlling laughter)
I guess his conversation with Uncle Andrew and the geckos in saw in Hawaii made an impression!
This morning Caeden felt rather deceived by the cereal box. He had the box of bran flakes and asked for a bowl of them. I got him a bowl and poured a little in. He looked at his bowl and then pointed to the box rather upset that HIS bowl didn't have blueberries in it like the bowl on the box! He kept wanting the box so he could get blueberries. How do you explain marketing to a 2 year old?
Some new words and phrases he has been using regularly are:
"think about it", "sure", "that would be fun" - it's pretty cute when they are in context too!
